Discovering Vision: Inspired ways to foster visual learning with every interaction
Todd Sitterley COVT
Course Description: A two-day 12-hour interactive workshop on defining and controlling the key variables for any Optometric Vision Therapy procedure. You will learn ways to arrange conditions for patients to have meaningfully engaging moments that lead to increased confidence and feeling safe, seen and understood while learning a more efficient way to utilize their visual system. It can be said that it is not the activity that does Optometric Vision Therapy, but how and when a procedure is introduced that allows for the discoverable moments that we call learning. In this seminar you will be learning ways to scaffold procedures and develop new ones with any object at your disposal. Learn ways to foster intrinsic motivation and direct attention for visual learning in your therapy room.
CE Hours: 12 hours of Continuing Education under the auspices of the Optometric Extension Program Foundation (OEPF)
When: November 7 and 8, 2025
Where: Island Palms Hotel and Marina
San Diego, California, USA
Todd Sitterley COVT
Todd became a Certified Optometric Vision Therapist in 2017 and worked in two offices in Arizona. He has served on the committee for the Behavioral Vision Seminar (BVS) meeting as the registration chair and has run the virtual component for the past few years. Has attended all but two COVD/OVDRA meetings since 2017, two NORA meetings, one CSO meeting, the BVS meeting every year since 2016 and has had the privilege of attending the last Sanet Seminar in 2024.
Todd started his career as an Optometric Vision Therapist after he completed his own program of Optometric Vision Therapy while in High school after they offered him a job upon completion. While working part time as a Vision Therapist in High school and College, he received a degree in Family Science and Human Development from Arizona State University, then after spending some time considering Occupational Therapy in college, found his true passion for Optometric Vision Therapy. This decision was made in no small part due to the people and information shared at the Behavioral Vision Seminar. Upon falling in love with the process of Optometric Vision Therapy, he views the role of the Therapist with great privilege and respect. Privilege to meet and work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds with compromised visual systems, and respect for the role therapists have within Optometric Vision Therapy.
